About Me

Hi, this is Alexey Sedoykin (Алексей Седойкин), a binary personality: a man, an engineer, a husband, and a father.

My experience is a symbiosis of deep understanding of both the design and operation of "big iron" classic heavy industrial machines that can be several stories high and hundreds of meters long and the software used to design and manage their product lifecycle.

Professional Journey

I started working with industrial automation while still studying at university. After graduation, I remained at my alma mater and was immediately involved in implementing Teamcenter and Unigraphics (NX) into the educational process.

Students solved real engineering and design tasks in NX, while their collaborative work was coordinated through Teamcenter. We organized the ability to work from anywhere in the world, and even evaluated student engagement, among other things, by their actual NX license usage.

2011–2022, 11 Years at Siemens Digital Industries Software

I started as a Teamcenter trainer, and later spent 10 years working as a Local Product Manager for Teamcenter and related PLM solutions.

During those years, I visited nearly all major industrial enterprises across Russia, from consumer goods manufacturers to aviation and rocket engineering plants. I also worked extensively in the countries of the former USSR and Turkey.

My responsibilities included sales support, software implementation projects, solving complex technical challenges, consulting users, and collecting requirements for global development teams.

Over the years, I accumulated a large number of ideas on how to improve software workflows, not only for Siemens Digital Industries Software solutions, but also for products from other vendors and even software outside the engineering domain.

Since 2022, Huawei

For the first three years, I contributed as a Team Lead, Solution Architect, and Software Architect to the development of engineering software initiatives in the local Chinese market.

One of the key projects that successfully evolved from a Proof of Concept into a fully-fledged product was a Digital Thread orchestration platform based on Graph Database, integrating data from heterogeneous engineering and enterprise information systems.

Today, I am focused on building software infrastructure around hardware accelerators.

My Projects and Community Contributions

Alongside my primary work, I create tools that genuinely simplify life for engineers, CAD/PLM administrators, developers, and even regular users.

You can find my work in:

I am also a co-author of an educational textbook on NX + Teamcenter for mechanical engineers the co-author of one patent and the creator of a large collection of tips & tricks shared through Github and LinkedIn .

Hobbies

Amateur shortwave radio communication.

Although I am not on the air very often, you can find me on the shortwave bands under the callsign UB3ARM . You can also try my Apple TV application for radio enthusiasts: HAMBoard .

I hope my projects, tools, and ideas will be useful to you or inspire you to create something new.
