Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to QR2Go, the iOS and iPadOS app for creating, previewing, saving, and reusing QR codes. QR2Go is designed to generate QR codes for websites, contacts, Wi-Fi, email, SMS, phone calls, calendar events, locations, shared links, shared text, and similar user-provided content. The app does not require account registration and is not intended to collect personal information from users.

Information We Collect

QR2Go does not intentionally collect, store, sell, or transmit personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, payment information, or QR code content to a developer-controlled server.

The app may store settings, QR code preferences, favorite QR codes, and related metadata locally on your device so your preferences and saved QR codes can persist between sessions. Favorite QR codes may contain the content you choose to save, such as a website address, Wi-Fi network name, contact card, event details, text, or location coordinates.

How the App Uses Contacts

If you choose to create a QR code from a contact, QR2Go may ask for access to your contacts. Contact access is used only to let you select a contact and generate a vCard QR code from the selected contact information.

Contact information is processed locally on your device. QR2Go does not upload your contacts to a developer-controlled server.

How the App Uses Location

If you choose to create a location QR code, QR2Go may ask for access to your current location. Location access is used only to help fill in latitude and longitude values for a location QR code.

Location information is processed locally on your device. QR2Go does not continuously track your location and does not upload your location to a developer-controlled server.

How the App Uses Photos

QR2Go may ask for permission to save generated QR code cards to your Photos library. This permission is used only when you choose to save a QR code image.

The app does not need to upload your photos to generate QR codes. If you select an image for use as a QR code center icon, that image is processed locally on your device and may be stored locally as part of your app settings.

How the Share Extension Works

QR2Go includes a Share Extension that can receive supported content from other apps through the iOS share sheet. Supported content may include URLs, text that contains URLs, plain text, contacts, vCards, and similar shared items.

Shared content is used only to generate a QR code preview and, if you choose, save the generated QR code card to Photos. Based on the current implementation, shared content is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to a developer-controlled server.

Analytics and Third-Party Services

QR2Go does not currently include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, or external tracking technologies in the app or Share Extension.

If you download the app through the App Store, Apple may process certain data as part of providing the store, licensing, purchases, downloads, updates, crash diagnostics, or device services. That processing is governed by Apple’s own policies and terms.

Data Retention

Settings, favorite QR codes, selected icon data, and other locally saved app data remain on your device until you change them, delete them inside the app where available, reset app settings, or remove the app from your device.

QR code images saved to Photos remain in your Photos library until you delete them from Photos.

Your Choices

Children’s Privacy

QR2Go is not directed to children under 13, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
